Madurodam – The miniature city in Holland

Madurodam is a miniature city located in Scheveningen, near The Hague, Netherlands, being the largest theme park in the Netherlands.

It’s a Dutch city on a 1:25 scale, composed of typical Dutch buildings and landmarks in the different areas of the country. In it you will find all Dutch landmark sites, buildings and the major bridges of every town, soldiers, trains, cars, football stadiums and corporations, all done in the most meticulous detail.

The miniature city was named after George Maduro, a law Jew student from Curaçao, who fought the Nazi occupation forces as a member of the Dutch resistance and died at Dachau concentration camp in 1945.

What is really fascinating is that in this miniature town everything is in motion, churches bells rings, cars running on roads, trains stops in stations and boats are crossing channels and the vegetation, such as shrubs, trees (there are real trees pruned after bonsai technique, so remain dwarfs), from churches to the airport, from the Mars factory to the zoo, from…http://tripelonia.com/destination/madurodam-the-miniature-city-in-holland/174
